Already on arrival at Flamingo airport one is welcomed by the Caribbean atmosphere, touching all your senses. A first exploration of the colourful capital Kralendijk will leave no doubt this is an enjoyable spot! The city offers shopping facilities for your daily needs and a bit more... Restaurants from fast-food to quality dining should leave nothing to be desired. Banks/ATM and post office can also be found in the city center. In case you should need medical care, there is a pharmacy and even a hospital available, located downtown Kralendijk, too.

ATTENTION PLEASE! Do not be surprised if you encounter an Iguana while strolling along the pier in Kralendijk, or wild donkeys crossing your way while you explore the island.
Nature on Bonaire is wild and spectacular and is discovered best along the "Wild Side" - the coastline in the east - and in the Washington Slaagbai National Park. However, those who expect lush green rainforest, waterfalls and palm groves will be disappointed. Those who can enjoy high cactus forests populated by iguanas, wild donkeys and parrots (to name just a few of the inhabitants), those who get inspired by endless and deserted limestone cliffs braving wind and sea or by the steppe-like grassy areas in the highlands, those of you will discover a gem of the Caribbean - even above water.
